Rural Road Show

June 5th – Aug 17th

Reception June 20th, 5 – 8pm

Based on a model from the Tasmanian area of Australia, the RURAL ARTS ROADSHOW exhibit has traveled throughout Allegany, Cattaraugus, and Wyoming Counties showcasing the work of regional artists who were invited to create art based on mental health challenges or experiences. The goal of the exhibition is to help increase mental health awareness and discussion. Tasmania, like Wyoming and Allegany Counties, has a high rate of social isolation, suicide, and depression. We hope this exhibit helps us to look at mental health through a new lens or become just a little more attuned to the challenges that a friend, a family member, or a stranger struggles with each day and how art could be part of the solution.
