“When people do research, especially in the Central New York area, one question that they always ask is what are military land grants? How did settlers end up in Western New York state? “To Men of Enterprise and Capital” will go over the settling of early New York State, starting briefly with early colonists and indigenous tribes before expanding into the settlement of Western and Central New York.”
Daisy Nicosia is the curator, archivist, and researcher for the Seneca Falls Historical Society. Born in the Seneca Falls area, Mrs. Nicosia attended Nazareth University and received her Bachelor’s degree in Museum Studies. She has been with the Seneca Falls Historical Society for three years, in which she’s been doing research, creating exhibits, performing tours of the building, and using their collections to teach the local community about their history. She has also begun writing articles for the Finger Lakes Times, sharing stories of Seneca County History with the public.
