an 1830s historic Federal-style building at the corner of Main & Bank
Streets in Batavia. Hours are 9am-4pm.
It's that time
of year again...it's PICNIC time! Are you are interested in
joining GO ART! for their 30th annual Picnic in the Park, July 4, 2008?

Food Vendors. Don't
delay! We'll see you at the Park!
PatriART Walk for
the Arts! Pledge your
allegiance to the arts this Independence Day and participate in our
PatriART Walk for the Arts. Arrive at Centennial Park @ 9:30 am to
register for 1-, 2-, and 3-mile walks through the streets of Batavia.
All walks begin and end at the park so plan on staying for our 30th
annual Picnic in the Park celebration!

Genesee &
Orleans Student Art Shows in all 4 galleries! Stop by our
galleries at 201 E. Main St., Batavia (Main Gallery), Senior Center, 2
Bank St., Batavia, Shirt Factory Cafe, 115 W. Center St., Medina &
Albion Visitor's Center, 121 N. Main St., Albion. Student artists from
area schools exhibit work in pencil, pen-and-ink, acrylic, watercolor,
digital photography and computer generated graphics. Opening receptions
begin at 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at GO ART!'s Main Gallery, at the Shirt
Factory Cafe, and at the Albion Visitor's Center.
Build a
VIBRANT Community Identity! Join GO ART! on Thursday, June 5
for a workshop that asks "Who are you, what do you serve, and how are
you doing?" Presented by the Alliance of NYS Arts Organizations in
conjunction with GO ART!, you'll also learn how to build new audiences,
brand your organization, and create effective partnerships. Guest
speaker Monica Mattioli is the Exec. Dir. of the Downtown Community
Forum in Rochester and Martha Strodel, Rural Arts Dir. at NYS
Arts. Registration is required. Cost: $10. Call 343.9313 or email

It's time to nominate individuals
and/or cultural organizations for our annual
Community Arts Awards! Categories are: Individual Award,
Cultural Organization Award, Artist Award, and Business/Foundation

(a.k.a. GO ART!), the arts service organization dedicated to supporting
and promoting arts and culture in the Western New York Counties of

The Genesee-Orleans Regional Arts Council will be the
vital community resource for promoting the value of art and culture as
integral to our daily lives.
Mission:
Art and Culture enriches, inspires and educates, while
strengthening a community's identity. Therefore,
GO ART! initiates a
broad range of opportunities for artists and cultural organizations, and
facilitates cooperative efforts among the cultural, business, service
and educational communities for the people who live in and visit Genesee
and Orleans Counties.
