GO ART! presents  Publishing an Ebook: Dark Night and Bright Morning, a workshop by Lori Ann Johnson.

Lori JohnsonOne Dark night

Date and Time: Saturday June 16, 2012 at 4:00 pm
Place: GO ART! Seymour Place, 201 E. Main Street, Batavia, NY

Free Admission

Lori will discuss her experience publishing an ebook, how she came to write and publish in this format, and why she writes. She will also read brief excerpts from her novel, and discuss the process of publishing and marketing an ebook.  In addition, she will elaborate on the logistics of purchasing and downloading an ebook.  She will bring a Nook to demonstrate the process as well.

A native of picturesque Chautauqua County, Lori Ann Johnson still resides in Western New York.  Inspired by nature's beauty, her photographs have been featured as part of the GO ART! gallery exhibits Winter Solstice and Songs of the Season in Batavia and Medina, New York.
She formerly worked as a licensed Cosmetologist and Esthetician, owning and operating Oxygen Salon for four years. Now her days are often filled with hiking, gardening, antiquing, kayaking and, weather permitting, skiing and snowshoeing.

She began writing as a creative outlet and recently completed a fiction manuscript, One Dark Night. After a period of representation by a literary agency without progress toward traditional publication , a friend suggested ebooks as a way to market my book since the market is continuously growing for electronic readers.  Within a month of listing my book as an ebook I have sold twenty units. She discovered that downloading an ebook is a quick and easy way to enjoy reading as well as circulating her novel.

Her book is titled One Dark Night.  Here is an overview of her book: A peaceful town in Bar Harbor, Maine is rocked when college professor Alex Kincaid stumbles across the body of her neighbor and best friend, Katie Beckley, in the woods near her house. While the police investigate her murder, the killer claims another victim and just like Katie, the victim is Alex's childhood friend.  When a chance encounter with a handsome stranger results in the disappearance of Alex's sister Julia, Alex is drawn into a madman's dangerous world of violence and murder.   Desperate to find Julia, Alex uncovers the stranger's volatile past and becomes the object of a horrifying plan for revenge.  Ultimately, Alex must choose; save her sister's life or her own.  This book is a chilling murder mystery/romance with plenty of exciting twists and a surprise ending.

Her book is available online as a Nook Book through www.barnesandnoble.com.
